PRP for Joint Pain & More

If you have pain in tendons, ligaments, muscles, or joints, and wish to avoid surgery or steroids, PRP (Platelet-rich Plasma) is a pain management solution well worth looking into. PRP is a revolutionary way to enhance the body’s ability to heal itself. PRP therapy uses platelets derived from your blood to alleviate pain in soft tissue injuries such as torn tendons, tendonitis, muscle injuries, arthritis, and joint injuries. Wherever you suffer from chronic or acute pain — in your feet, elbows, shoulders, hips, or knees — PRP therapy can help improve your quality of life.

PRP may be used alone or in combination with cell Nanoparticles that supercharge the efficacy of PRP. These cell nanoparticles are tiny, growth factor-rich, extracellular vesicles that encourage healing. These cell nanoparticles amplify the anti-inflammatory and healing properties of PRP through their facilitation of cell-to-to communication. Cell nanoparticles may also be administered during many of our other services including:

Faqs

Unlike traditional methods of pain reduction, PRP therapy is non-invasive, long-lasting, and presents few, if any, complications. The first step in a PRP treatment is to separate the plasma from the red blood cells, a process that we do by centrifuging a vial of a client’s blood. This highly concentrated plasma is then injected into the affected area using a very fine needle. Because the area is pre-numbed, there is little discomfort during treatment.

The growth factor-rich plasma goes to work right away to promote healing and rejuvenation to areas of injury. The body’s immediate response is to activate its immune and wound healing process, stimulating the release of these beneficial growth factors. The PRP immediately promotes healing and effortlessly stimulates collagen and elastin production. Depending on the area to be treated, the procedure takes less than an hour and produces noticeable results within a week or two. Clients may resume normal activity 24–48 hours after treatment.

PRP can help rebuild new tissues that have been damaged or worn down. Cartilage damage can result from sports injuries such as spine or knee trauma, or just from overuse as with osteoarthritis or spinal disc degeneration. The following are some examples of injuries that respond well to PRP.

Rotator cuff injuries, tendon damage, or plantar fasciitis. PRP stimulates the growth of new tissues to replace damaged tissues. Its ability to reduce swelling and scar tissue buildup accelerates the healing process. PRP gives the body more functionality and stronger muscles, tendons, and other tissues.

Osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is common in older adults, but it can occur at any age in overused joints. When the articular cartilage on the ends of bones is worn down, the result is reduced joint mobility and pain. PRP helps rebuild this cartilage, addressing the root cause of the pain.

Meniscus damage or tears. Knee injuries are common in many sports activities, but sometimes the meniscus simply wears down. The traumatized cartilage doesn’t heal well because this area has very limited blood flow. An untreated meniscus tear can result in the frayed edge getting caught in the joint, causing pain and swelling. It can also lead to long-term knee problems such as arthritis and other soft tissue damage. PRP therapy has been shown to stimulate the healing process, regenerate the damaged tissue, and restore functionality.

Spinal disc degeneration. Disc degeneration is a common cause of back pain. Disc generation occurs when the discs between each of the vertebrae wear down, harden and lose their ability to deal with compression. This often results in disc herniation or nerve pinching. PRP has been found to inhibit the process of disc generation by closing up any tears in the tissue and healing them to prevent fluid from leaking. PRP may also regrow damaged tissue, leading to less back pain and increased functionality in the spine.

Once your body receives the platelet-rich plasma injection, your natural healing system becomes more efficient and continues to work until your chronic pain dissipates. Studies show PRP may enhance or improve:

  • Joint lubrication, easing joint stiffness, especially beneficial in arthritis-related pain
  • The progression of osteoarthritis by reducing inflammation
  • The stimulation and formation of new cartilage, collagen, and fibers and stimulate the formation of new blood vessels which can further improve healing
  • Amplification of growth factors that may increase and stimulate the number of repair cells in your body
  • PRP may lead to an almost immediate reduction in pain

Since the discovery in the 1980s of PRP’s remarkable abilities, PRP therapy continues to astound the medical world for the many ways PRP helps the body heal itself. Used to promote healing during surgical procedures in the early years, today PRP therapy is routinely used for Skin RejuvenationHair Restoration, and for restoring sexual health via the Endura Shot for men and V-Shot for women.
